VBC7 Sites: The Village Builder needs you!
The Village Builder is publication that serves as an advertisement, a souvenir, and most importantly a guidebook for the Village Building Convergence. Its goal is to give the reader all that they need to get the most out of the VBC experience…it’s especially important that this year’s sites be well represented…
Village Builder Publication information asked of all VBC7 sites/ site contacts.
What is the location of the site (ie SE 30th & Hawthorne)?
What is the name of the group/ business school/ etc? (ie, Portland Hostel, PSU, Tryon Life Farm, etc…)
What is the name of the project? (ie, Cob Bench, Cobzeebo, Sauna, Intersection Repair, Cob monster, etc…)
What goals do you have for the site? (ie: Why are you doing a VBC site?)

What specifically will you be doing at the site? (As specific in terms of both activity and best guess for what will happen when?)
Do you expect the site to be done at the end of VBC? Will there be additional work/ activity/ events after VBC7?
What, if anything, could you use help with…and/or
What, if anything, do you have to offer?
How could someone best enjoy your project? (this is mostly for sites not obvious enough- ie, a public bench is direct, but some sites might require coming at a specific time…)
Is there a phone number, email, web site or other contact mode for more info on your site? (All information will be assumed suitable for publishing unless EXPRESSLY stated otherwise)
Please submit AT LEAST one image of or representing the site…ideally more than one, preferably at least one sketch/plan for the site, and one representing the “spirit” of the site. (What is already there, who will work on it, etc.)
Please submit any photos or other images related to the site or VBC that you’d just like to share…
Please submit any stories, anecdotes, quotes, reading or viewing suggestions…
Please submit any and all names of people who are important to site for the “Thank you” page. (Early is better, but keep adding up until deadline.)
If there is someone heavily involved (site leaders, natural builders, etc) who warrants and would like a bio printed, PLEASE submit an approximately 50 word bio AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
What else would you like to share?
We also will be communicating with you shortly about creating relationships with businesses in your area. (Which may include selling ads for the Builder…)
An electronic document version of this will be gladly emailed to those who request it by emailing villagebuilder@cityrepair.org.
Questions, comments, concerns and suggestions may also be made via villagebuilder@cityrepair.org , or placed in the Village Builder Publication mailbox at City Repair HQ.
The original deadline was April 10-contact us for updates and extensions…
