If you’re interested in volunteering in exchange for entrance into the evening events, we are having our Annual People! Power! Volunteer Orientation. Come learn about this year’s projects, and sign up for cleaning, cooking, greeting, moving, baking and shaking shifts. One four hour shift earns you one night of evening admittance. Also, feel free to drop by City Repair Head Quarters (2122 SE Division) Tuesdays from 6:15 to 6:45 and ask for Maralena.

Work Party Nourishment Coordinator
Coordinate food for pre-VBC work parties to keep our volunteers and builders fed! Responsible for soliciting donations, finding volunteers to help with food prep, and transporting the food to the work party. Works closely with the Work Party Coordinator and the Food Donations Coordinator.

Tabling Coordinator
The tablers might include sustainable businesses, sponsors of the Convergence, tablers from Earth Day, and local businesses. You will be in charge of sending the tabling info out to partners and sponsors who request it, coordinating moving tables from a warehouse to the venue, mailing out publicity stuff, keeping a schedule of who is on what night and where they will be located, and showing people to tables and checking on their needs during the event.

Event and Venue Volunteer Coordinator
There are a lot of people who want to help work at the venue and plan the evening events. Help support the Event and Venue Design team manage all these wonderful people by helping volunteers figure out which roles they want to take on.

Publicity Awesomeness
Help our Publicity team get the word out there. If you want to make phone calls to reporters, help get us hooked up with local TV and radio stations, distribute posters and flyers, or help us collect on publicity we’ve already been promised, this is the role for you!

Negative Waste Coordinator
Help make the event venue zero-waste! Let’s make sure we can reuse/recycle/compost all surplus produced at the venue. Make sure recycling kiosks are well-placed, emptied and find other creative ways to eliminate waste. Help manage compost accumulation at the venue.

Maintenance Coordinator
If you want to help out but can’t be around every night of the VBC, this is the position for you! Support the Negative Waste coordinator in her mission! Help manange flow of materials to be reused/recycled/composted. Coordinate the team that keeps the venue clean and beautiful during the week.

Clean-up Coordinator
Want to make the whole thing possible but don’t have any time until May? Coordinate clean-up and breakdown of the event venue. This involves tracking all borrowed items at the beginning of set up and then coming back refreshed to direct the breakdown/cleanup effort.

Silk Screen Coordinator
Recycled Fashion is a hot commodity around City Repair. Last year we sold a ton of VBC T-Shirts because they were so cool. Be the one to manage all aspects of this with a team. Works directly with the Event Sales Coordinator. Solicits clothing donations from private individuals and businesses, and arrange for t-shirts to be printed with silk-screen prints.
